Stormy Night in Houston!

Wow, what a night it was! Our second Love Those Mavs excursion of the season took us down south to Rockets country.

A major rain event rolled into town about the time we were set to blast off and after a bit of a bumpy flight (offset by lots of laughs and rowdy Mavs fans onboard the LTM jet) we landed ready for some hoops action.

Dinner on this rainy Saturday night was at The Grove, a rocks throw from the Toyota Center and excellent food. It’s always fun to watch other diners get a kick out of our sometimes loud (an understatement) and predominantly Blue group!

Our lucky guests were David Wright and his lovely daughter Andrea, Lloyd and Toby Banks who are longtime season ticket holders, and Mike and Rebecca Carrell.

Rebecca was the long time cohost of the KSCS 96.3 Dorsey Gang program and now morning show cohost on KCBI Christian radio in Dallas.

They are all huge MFFL’s and a lot of fun to spend the evening with, in what turned out to be one emotional roller coaster of a game. In fact the game was as bumpy as the flight!

Our Team Blue was down as much as 18 points but staged a huge comeback against a Rockets team that faced Chandler Parsons for the first time at home and the crowd was revved up to say the least.

We noticed an unusually large amount of Mavs fans in the Toyota Center and boy were they loud, chanting “Let’s Go Mavs!” over and over and noticeably loud.

The adrenaline was on over load and even though we fell short when the buzzer sounded, everybody was exhausted but still grinning.

A great game, wonderful new friends, smooth flight back home, and just an overall fun night was had. These things never get old. Next stop……Chicago!
